Get three low-impact, sustainable, yet challenging and intense classes that will push you to get stronger, more confident and more focused. You will love the workout variety of complimenting our slow-paced and challenging RESISTANCE classes (which are similar to pilates but with a greater emphasis on strength) with our up-beat, energizing and yet non-impact CARDIO+STRENGTH classes.

THE STUDIO

We are a locally owned gym that was started in Boulder, CO in 2006. Our mission is to empower clients to enjoy lifelong health through challenging classes that are sustainable and low impact. We welcome all levels.

The Classes

To ensure the highest in quality instruction we allow a maximum of fifteen clients per class. This allows you to get detailed alignment attention, adjustments for injuries or imbalances, and a better overall experience with Mecha.

RESISTANCE classes borrows elements from Pilates and strength training to create a zero-impact, no-rest, 50-minute experience. We use a pilates reformer machine to build deep core strength, long and lean muscles, balance and flexibility, improved concentration, and a body that is less prone to injury. Various types of lunges, planks, and pushing and pulling moves are part of every class. All exercises are performed until your muscles are fully fatigued. Then you keep going a little longer! CARDIO+STRENGTH classes are programmed based to give you an efficient and effective workout in 50-minutes. All CARDIO+STRENGTH classes will get your heart pumping through sprints, time trials, and endurance intervals using low-impact cardio equipment such as Concept 2 SkiErgs, VersaClimbers, and Schwinn Airdyne Bikes. You won’t have to do any running or box jumps to spike your heart rate in the CARDIO+STRENGTH room. Classes also incorporate strength work using body weight exercises as well as Rope Trainers, TRX, sandbags, resistance bands, Surge Pipes, Bosu balls, soft plyo boxes, and more. STRENGTH classes are a 5-week programmed strength training cycle that uses the concepts of progressive overload to build muscle and strength. Track your progress and you’ll be surprised at how much progress you can make when you have a logical program, a great instructor who can modify to your needs and a supportive community. Move better and more smoothly. You will receive form help in these classes and they are limited in attendance so we can provide the best service possible. You will get results with consistent attendance.

RELEASE classes are designed to help you release your body’s tension and melt away stress while injury proofing the body. In this 50-minute experience we use a pilates reformer machine to both strengthen joints and ligaments and give us gentle assisted stretches. This class will soothe your body and leave you feeling calm and grounded. Developed in partnership with our own on staff Physical Therapist this class will touch on common misalignments to help you strengthen weaknesses and open up your tight spots. Come prepared to relax.

BARBELL CLUB NEW to Mecha is our barbell club program. This class is a 4-week strength training cycle teaching effective and safe progressions in weight lifting. Focusing on squats, deadlifts, push and pull plus accessory work you will develop good technique to give you the confidence to progress in weight. From beginner lifters to advanced this class appeals to all levels. Please email us for more information as this class is pre-sold as a 4-week strength cycle. Classes are one hour and meet twice weekly.


The Schedule

We offer 50+ classes per week starting as early as 6am and as late as 6pm.

All classes are 50 minutes long to get you maximum results in an efficient amount of time.

Rebecca Baack

Rebecca started in fitness 17 years ago when she opened the first CorePower Yoga franchise in Broomfield, CO. She spent the next 17 years opening CorePower Yoga locations throughout Colorado, Chicago, Arizona and the Carolinas. She then became a partner in Ape Co Movement School in Boulder, CO in 2017 and opened a second Ape Co location in Denver in 2020.

She is the current Owner and Director of Mecha. Rebecca’s mission is to help people find greater connection to themselves and live life more fully through movement.
