i want to know something
what do you guys think of the color scheme? i had one guy say red and black isn't good. or it was hard on the eyes or something. i don't quite remember exactly, but it was a criticism.
yesterday
man, i was so tired yesterday.. i was falling asleep when i got home from work. then i was falling asleep again at around 8:30 or so, i dozed until around 11:30, when i thought maybe i should just go to sleep, and that's what i did.
this is the first time I've slept before 12 am for a long long time. i can't even remember the last time i went to bed early. it was either 3 months ago at the start of work term, or 11 months ago, at the start of first year.
and yes, this is worthy of a post. as i've stated above, this is a rare event.

wayne's surprise bday party
the most successful surprise party in the history of mankind that was first thought of less than 24 hours from surprise time and had invitations (by phone/email/icq) of only one hour before surprise time. i think it was a total fluke that it was pulled off.
over 20 people showed up (notified only hours before the party), and almost all of them brought gifts. eh. it was a fluke.
had all you can eat at wayne's parents' restaurant mandarin, then went to play pool. the pool part wasn't too successful though. i think half the people went missing/home. the pool hall was pretty nice though. and i managed to pull off a 7 ball win one game. :P
the party was held by his family. and once i get some pics that were taken (hint), i might write a longer thing about the party.

my relatives that i'm staying with, just bought a new car yesterday. i was gonna mention it yesterday but i forgot. anyway, it looks nice... i'm sure you've seen the new bmw 3 series redesign.
dragonball book 12
book 12 is now up. things are getting serious in the story. people dying and stuff.
thomas crown
i haven't said anything about that movie yet have i.
well, i saw it on sunday, as you all know, but really, i was hoping to see mystery men. boo.. i thought that was the plan. oh well.. i guess i'll see mm another time. now, about thomas crown.
what i say about thomas crown will probably be negatively biased, because i was in the mood for mystery men, and thomas crown is completely different. i didn't like it all that much. to sum the story up, it's entrapment mixed with james bond, but it didn't mix that well. it's about thomas crown outsmarting everybody and renee russo's character (i forgot the name already) falling in love with him.

The sounds at night? Which ones? the kids were spooky... I think they were the kids that were killed. I don't know about the footsteps, they sounded more like trees falling ...
i missed the part when they said they hung the witch in the forest to die, so i couldn't figure out the meaning of the stick figures. but now i get it. the children, yeah, are most likely the ones who died, but how come they were pestering the campers? ooh.. more questions.. need more answers :P

i want to relate to you something that happened in a bw game that i found amusing. it goes like this.

me: "then get ready for it"
justin brings a probe to my base and puts a pylon up.

of course, those quote are not word for word, and i did a little bit of paraphrasing, but you get the idea. :P

if anybody has or know of anyone who has any pictures taken on aaron's surprise party please email me. especially the ones of aaron after we "decorated" him. I'm sure someone has pics of those. i now remember why i've been putting off part 3. it was because i was waiting for those pics.

i've had this for a while now, and i think it would benefit everybody if i posted this up, so listen carefully and pay attention.
the 6th sense
i just came back home from watching 6th sense. and without giving too much away (no more spoilers, dennis), it was about a kid who could see ghosts, and a child psychologist who's trying to help him. to every one else, the kid just seems like a freak with some mood disorders and what not. the best part about the movie was the ending. it ties everything in the movie together and everything fits. to quote amy: "i totally didn't see it coming". the ending, however, is not outrageous, it makes sense.
i totally recommend seeing this movie. oh and it's pretty scary too. and it makes you think, which is always a sign of a good movie. go watch it! oh yeah, the kid is a pretty good actor too, he had to act a lot of emotions out, and for a kid, he did it very well.
go see it asap.

traffic
i never thought about how complex traffic can be until i saw an article about it. pretty crazy stuff. but after thinking about it a bit, i agree that traffic is very complicated and difficult to accurately predict. go see for yourself and draw your own conclusions.

i was just looking back at my previous content and i just saw that i didn't finish writing up aaron's surprise party part 3, which is the final part. doh. i completely forgot about it. sorry. i'll get it done in the next few days. hope you weren't waiting just for that.
more blair witch stuff
i've been thinking about it. and i think these are some insights that i should have understood while watching the movie, but i only figured it out now. don't read on if you haven't seen the movie.
the piles of stones: the first time they found the piles of stones, there were 7 piles. and there were 7 children murdered before. the morning they found 3 piles of stones around their tent, those piles were for the 3 campers.
mike in the corner: actually. i did figure this out when i saw it, but i'll mention it anyway. mike was hanging in the corner facing the corner just as the children did when they were killed. remember the tales near the begninning of the movie?
alright, so i didn't have that many insights. but there's a few more puzzles i want to figure out: what did those stick figures in the forest represent? what was the significance of josh's teeth? how did they end up in the same place after hiking a full day in one direction? what were those sounds in the night? what messed up their stuff one night? your thoughts on the matter?

not as tiring as last time
last week, after soccer, i finished the largest sized slurpee there was and needed more. this time, it was enough. and i didn't feel too tired until the end. actually, i was never really too tired. but i was feeling a cramp coming on, so i stopped exerting myself and stretched in regular intervals. maybe that's why.
gonna play soccer again
hey, this is turning into a weekly thing. it's fun at the start, starts becoming tough in the middle, almost torture at the end. and then i'm sore for the next few days. i wonder why i'm doing this? doesn't seem very worth the pain does it :P. oh well. i need the exercise.

what a boring day
i am proud to say that i've accomplished absolutely nothing today.
oh, but i was channel surfing while having dinner today, and i found that wwf wrestling was on, so i decided to watch. it's been a while since the last time i've watched wrestling :P. i think their story writers are getting pretty good at stirring up new twists and stuff. it's quite messed up.

guess what i just found out today.. there's a friend i know from playing starcraft called Doc~Lizard who is good friends with the Mike guy in the blair witch project. cool eh? they are in the same frat together. it turns out that mike is his real name. actually.. i could have figured that out by looking at the credits probably, but i didn't. Michael Curry Williams, from Sigma Alpha Mu/ Kappa Sigma.
isn't that cool? i just saw the movie this weekend, then now i see doc on again (after like months), who's friends with the guy in the movie :P. just thought i'd let you know.

the blair witch project
i just went to see the blair witch project. well. i have to say, it was a pretty original movie. maybe too much so. filmed as a documentary by three students, supposedly. the result of this, was the camera was extremely shakey throughout the entire movie. i'd guess more than a few people in the theatre got nauseous. so that part of the movie was pretty bad. i guess it's done to heighten the sense of realism, but i think it's a little too jumpy.
was it scary? sort of. if that really happened then it would be really scary, but we all know it's just a movie, so it's not quite all that scary. at least to me. i won't say anything more, lest i ruin the movie for people who haven't seen it yet. ok bye

today
today is my brother's 16th birthday. happy birthday jamie.
today is my parents' anniversary. happy anniversary!
today is friday. end of the week, yes! and it's a long weekend too! hooray!
soccer and ultimate
damn i need to exercise more. yesterday evening, i played soccer and ultimate. it was the first time i went to do sports since, um, a long time ago. i mean really play sports. i've done a bit of basketball, some ping pong, stuff like that. but those don't count. this was all out.
lasted about a half hour before i was tired out. and because i'm so smart, i didn't bother to bring anything to drink. just perfect. then andrew informed me that we're going for slurpees afterwards, so i guess that motivated me enough to go for another hour and a half. heh.
2 hours, and i was dead tired. i'm so unfit.
the first game we played was soccer. it was for fun, just a bunch of friends passing the time by pushing our physical limits to the point of pain (right andrew?), but we still kept score. the team i was on lost i think about 9-5 or 9-6 or something.
then it was time for ultimate. haha. we wasted the other side by 8-3 or something. woohoo! i think by that time nobody wanted to do any more running, and ultimate requires really a lot of running. so the people who had the will power to keep running (my team) won the game.
slurpee time! i finished the largest sized one, and it wasn't enough :P so ihad another glass of milk after that.
now i'm sore and aching all over. was yesterday worth it? i dunno, you decide.

guess what guys, me and pwa_prick just played these dutch guys, and they quit after 5 minutes and called us cheaters. i think it's because we had the game won already. prick killed terran's bunker, and i (zerg) secured a fast expand. so lame
