i've just been informed that 2 good friends of mine both made the cut for study in commerce at ubc! congratulations, andrew and jerry, business background means money and commerce at ubc means girls! :P alright!

we now have a new member in pwa. he's been playing with us for quite some time now.. must have been 8 months! since beginning of first term! and finally he's now pwa. welcome PWA_Penis, to playas with attitude.

some new stuff
i've finally done some work on the site that is noticeable to you guys. what i was doing before were image optimization, making my javascript better, and css tweaks. now.. i have updated my games section. there's a starcraft section in the games section and you should find a strategy section and a screenshot section
the strategy part was the big update i was talking about before.. but i think it's a bit too big to wait for the whole thing to be completed before i update it. so now, parts of the strategy guide will go up bit by bit.
the screenshot section is my new current project. i will be adding many more screens in the near future. Of course, a few at a time. I don't have all the time in the world to work on this stuff.

not that i'm running out of bandwidth or anything (i wish), but because i have the extra web space at my new isp. hey, the mirror site is faster (for me), and has no xoom bar to deal with.

lately, i've been really lazy about updating the page... uh.. yeh.. just wanted to tell you that i've decided to give myself a break from doing my site, at least until after final exams.
I'll have plenty of time to do web design once my ob starts. I'll be doing... web design.. so maybe a break right now is good, then I won't be bored of web design at my job. 4 months of web design. woohoo!
ok, that's all. except I'm planning on a new design yet again. i'm bored of this set up already.

i know.. imposed by xoom. i really really hate that xoombar... it totally detracts from the design and atmosphere of my site. i happen to think my site is one of the better looking ones out there, but this xoombar practically destroys it. ...bu it has to stay... they better come up with different styles, so i can pick the least ugliest one.

midterms suck
hm.... this term my midterms were spread over like over a month long. from like beginning of february to the end of this week. I'm thinking... how'd they screw that up so bad?! I wish they all fit in a 2 week period, so i don't have to study intermittently for over a month. I'd rather just get it all over with. then go back to stuff i usually do, like starcraft, and this webpage.
I just finished writing my 2nd algebra midterm. this means i only have one more midterm to go. and it's econ, so it'll be easy. hm.. I have 7 midterms this term. 6 down one to go!
the algebra midterm was supposed to be really hard.... heh.... so we (classmates and I) studied for it for so long. read the text book yesterday afternoon, went to Williams last night from 10 til 2, then studied some more this afternoon. turns out... it wasn't that hard :P. we over-studied a little. i hate it when i do that. it means i wasn't EFFICIENT enough. hm. I'll talk about efficiency for studying later, so you know what I'm talking about
now it's off to do CS assignment, due tomorrow morning... weeeee.....

i just read the whole story for evangelion the over the last few days. it was a good story. it makes me want to actually watch the 26 tv episodes. unfortunately, i think the series wasn't translated into english. i read the translation of a fan who could read japanese. i still wanna watch them though.
i also just found out today that the dragon ball gt storyline was really writtin by akira toriyama even though he doesn't draw it anymore. previously, i just thought he let some other people make the gt series, and stopped making dragonball after z series. ah well
bored
i'm bored. of course, there's plenty for me to do... like finish the dbz, games, and pwa sections. or maybe i can study for the midterm i have to write on monday.
but i don't feel like doing any of those. i wanna take a small break from making my page for a day. the pwa player profiles was just recently put up, and i prepared the dbz section for future updates. it's also 2 am, so i don't feel like doing any work for school riht now. besides, i have all day saturday and sunday and part of monday to study. and the material isn't that hard anyways.

new sections?
you may have noticed the 2 new buttons on the side. yes, they are clickable, but there is no meaningful content there yet. i decided to add those to motivate me to actually work on those sections eventually.
also: added a tiny bit of javascript. it's barely noticeable though. but every little thing counts. look at your browser status line when you hover over links :)

browser compatability
as everyone knows by now, my site here, only looks good in Internet Explorer. And preferrably, specifically, internet explorer 4. I know this alienates many of my audience who are pro-netscape. Maybe I should make a netscape version of this page too. .... nah... you see.. truth is, I don't care if only a few select people can see my page. Well, not so select. All you need is the right browser.
My previous website, also named trunks' domain (it's really empty... i didn't like the way it looked so I did a complete redesign right after i finished making that design), looked better in netscape than it did in internet explorer. however, as I learned more about web design, I found netscape to be extremely limiting. Where's the CSS support? It's practically non-existant, even though a FEW style tags are allowed. True, IE doesn't have full support, but it's the best I can do right now. Another thing I hate about netscape: I can't seem to specify my frmae size to the exact pixel. It cuts off a few pixels here and there, and everything that looks nicely pieced together suddenly looks all chaotic and stuff. IE, on the other hand understands that 128 pixels means 128 pixels, not 120.
another thing i hate about netscape is the time it takes to load it. Compared to the near instant pop up of ie, netscape is slow as a snail. slower. they had to make this fancy splash screen so you have something to look at while you wait for it to load. i won't go into any more details of why i like ie more than netscape, but I'll say this: ie beats out netscape in every category with the exception of share of users, which netscape has a larger share only because many people have anti-microsoft preferences because they are afraid they will take over the world or something. that just makes no sense.
basically, the reason of this update is to inform everybody out there, that this site will never be netscape compatible as long as netscape does not conform with new web design innovations. I like to use these new ways of formatting web pages, and I will use these methods profusely. my site will only be netscape compliant if the next netscape incorporates support for all the new nifty design toys, most of which i love to play with.
this is my personal site, and there's nothing any of you can do about it. So get IE4 now, and enjoy my site the way it was meant to be viewed. any of you who has a problem with it, can contact me, but I don't think it will help any, unless you present a very great argument

side note: I really don't like calculus. It is 9:30 am and I haven't slept. I have been poring over this one calculus problem, that none of my friends nor I can figure out. What a bummer. This is due noon. I am, however, determined to complete this question and hand it in before that time, and get perfect on this assignment. Doing this would also help me for my midterm on monday.
speaking of midterms, my econ midterm went pretty much ok. I didn't like the answers they let me choose for some of the multiple choice questions however. They were extremely vague at times. For example: The standard of living for Canadian workers is: a) 7th of the G7 countries. b) at the top of the major industrial world. c) near the top pf the major industrial world. d) far below that of the United States e) I forgot. but you get the idea... I chose c).... hope I'm right.
ok. My break is over. back to finishing the calc question.

well, co-op postings are over...
No more postings to do... I have a little bit more free time now. However, midterms are starting now. I just had one yesterday. Fortunately, it was an easy one. One down, like 5 or 6 more to go. Next one's on Thursday, and it is going to be a tough one... Macroeconomics.
I finally started work on my profiles section. I have the format all done. The styles all set up. I just need to add the information. Over the next few days, I will be thinking of what information I should share with everybody. I made some entries already. You can take a look if you're curious. Also, I will be redesigning the links section. I don't like the way it looks right now... I have an idea. I need to test it though.
Also: I am currently making a Shockwave enhanced webpage that will be the preffered version of this page. Anyone with a Shockwave plugin will be amazed. The rest of you will be linked back to this page. Netscape Users: unfortunately, I don't like the way netscape handles frames, so i won't be doing a netscape version (I found the netscape cuts a few pixels off my left frames even thought I set the size of the frame specifically by pixel and a specific margin). if you do use netscape, i am also co-authoring another wepage, that will look fine in netscape called The Waterloo Project. It is not up yet, but most of the design work is done and all that's left to do is the coding and implementation. I think that's the easy part, so you can expect that page up soon, and as soon as it's up, I'll provide a link to it.

back from holidays
HI! I'm finally back from holidays out of town and updating the page again. Hope everybody had a great Christmas and New Years. I certainly did. Boxing Week shopping was crazy. Bought a whole lot of stuff. But I hate lineups and waiting, so I didn't go Boxing Day. I just slept that day. I don't get why people wait so long just to buy something. Sure, it's a good deal, but I got a good deal the 27th to the 30th. And, yes, there's always still good stuff left to get.
Also, class started today. doh. Well, it wasn't too bad. Just went over some course outlines, stuff like that. But I got confused about algebra already. Anybody out there good at math? Email me!
One more thing. IT'S DAMN COLD HERE! Like minus 30 something celcius. Luckily, I bought thick heavy stuff to bring back. But it's still too cold.

1.04 cont'd...
After rapidly posting the previous announcement as fast as I could, I figured out that not even the Blizzard site had the 1.04 announcement up yet. I am good. All they did was post it in the forum. but that's not technically the Blizzard Site, it's the Battle.Net site. So there. I'm second, after www.battle.net.
I got a chance to play around with the new patch and I have to say, the changes are quite drastic, and changes the game completely (almost). All the old strats and build orders need to be updated; especially the zerg orders. The new larva spawn rate really screws things up.
Highlight of the night: I managed to kill 174 Hydras (no joke) with around 24-30 dragoons and 4 reavers. hahahahaha, the new dragoons are really good.

problems
had to fix some glitches in my css file. It was making heading 1 bigger than heading 2 but it was supposed to be the other way around. I just changed it by switching the colors around and using the headings in reverse. This seems to work even though I had to work for my CSS, instead of my CSS working for me. Oh well. At least it works. YEAH!
I also added glassdog.com to my links page. Bear with me: I'm still thinking up a format for that page.
oh yeah, do email me about suggestions for and opinions of the site. I need to know how I'm doing.
CSS WORKS!
After an hour of guess and testing, and with the help of glassdog.com I finally got my style sheet working. WOOHOO! Also, today happens to be my 18th birthday. Now, it will also be known as the birthday of my website, as this is the very first update I am making!!
Note: This site seems a bit empty eh? just a homepage and an empty links page so far. Don't worry, the site will expand. I'll set up more and more sections as the need arises. I made the site extremely easy to modify and update. :)
