Geomancy

New Qualities
Geomancy
4-point Supernatural Quality
Geomancy works exactly like the Sorcery Quality. It differs in that instead of a fixed amount, the Geomancer adds the level of the Ley Line to the Willpower + Occultism roll to cast spells, up to the level of the Quality. The Geomancy quality is also required to cast the following Geomantic spells.
Geomancy Spells
Geomancy spells interact with the lines of magical power which criss-cross the earth known as Ley Lines. Many can only be cast while the caster is on a Ley Line, standing or otherwise. Although the Spell Level of many of these spells are high, especially strong Ley Lines will provide bonuses that mitigate the difficulty of the spell.
Sense Ley Line
Quick Cast: Yes
Spell Level: 2.
Requirements: Ley Line
Effect: The caster can see Ley Lines as glowing silvery tracks on the ground for 1 minute. Ley lines cannot be hidden by other spells; they are far too powerful.
Seek Ley Line
Quick Cast: Yes
Spell Level: 5.
Requirements: Ley Line
Effect: The caster will be aware of the direction and distance to the nearest Ley Line.
Shout
Quick Cast: Yes
Spell Level: 6.
Requirements: Ley Line.
Effect: Allows the caster to project his voice to everyone on the same Ley Line for 1 minute. Distance is no object. Anyone standing or otherwise on the Ley Line will hear the caster's voice. The time lag is no greater than for a normal speaking distance - the sound travels instantaneously to all points along the Ley Line.
Whisper
Quick Cast: Yes
Spell Level: 9.
Requirements: Ley Line.
Effect: Allows the caster to speak to a specific individual standing on the same Ley Line for 1 minute. The recipient can be either a person known (or believed) to be on the line, or anyone at a specified place along the line. The recipient will not know where the voice is coming from unless he is expecting it or the caster explains. This spell does not allow the caster to hear what the recipient says - see Ley Communication for that.
Listen
Quick Cast: Yes
Spell Level: 5.
Requirements: Ley Line, Acute Senses: Hearing.
Effect: Allows the caster to hear sounds as if he was at another position on the same Ley Line he is standing on for 1 minute. The location must be specified, and the sound travels instantaneously to the caster.
Vision
Quick Cast: Yes
Spell Level: 5.
Requirements: Ley Line, Acute Senses: Vision.
Effect: Allows the caster to see as if he was at another position on the same Ley Line he is standing on for 1 minute. The location must be specified, and the sound travels instantaneously to the caster.
Communication
Quick Cast: Yes
Spell Level: 13.
Requirements: Ley Line, Acute Senses: Hearing.
Effect: Like Ley Whisper, but the caster will also hear whatever the recipient says for 1 minute.
Run
Quick Cast: No.
Spell Level: 6.
Requirements: Ley Line, preparation for 2 turns.
Effect: Allows the subject to move at great speed along a Ley Line. The subject's moment speed is doubled for 5 minutes as long as he only moves along the Ley Line. If he steps off the Ley Line the spell ends. He may switch to a different Ley Line at a nexus.
March
Quick Cast: No
Spell Level: 8.
Requirements: Ley Line, 1 minute of preparation.
Effect: Allows the subject to march at a rate which will result in a full day's worth of walking travel (40km) along a Ley Line in one hour. The subject may stop at any point. If he steps off the Ley Line the spell ends.
Fly
Quick Cast: Yes
Spell Level: 7.
Requirements: Ley Line,.
Effect: Allows the subject to fly along a Ley Line at 24 meters/turn. The subject has full control of the flight but cannot climb higher than 6m from the ground or turn off the Ley Line.
Telekinesis
Quick Cast: No
Spell Level: 3, +1 per 50 kg.
Requirements: Ley Line, Sorcery or Telekinesis, 1 turn of preparation.
Effect: The caster can telekinetically move large objects along a Ley Line, floating up to 20 feet off the ground. The speed of movement is up to 20 feet per second. The subject may be an unwilling creature, who gets a Dexterity roll to resist by moving off the Ley Line. If a subject can grab something anchored to the ground they can break the spell by winning a contest of Strength against the caster's Willpower.
Teleportation
Quick Cast: Yes
Spell Level: 4, +1 per 50kg, +1 per 1 km.
Requirements: Ley Line, Sorcery or Telekinesis.
Effect: Teleports an object to any point along the Ley Line it is currently on. If the subject is unwilling it gets Dexterity or Willpower roll (whatever is better) to resist.
