Moorlock Investigations and Feng Shui Consultants
The building that houses Moorlock Investigations and Feng Shui Consultants is located on the corner of 3rd and Glisan in Portland, where Chinatown ends and the industrial area begins. Johnny Moorlock leases the entire building. The first floor houses his business. The upstairs has four bedrooms and a shared living area that serves as a library and sanctuary. There is a full garage in the basement as well as a small forensics laboratory and a recharging socket for SMASHBOT. There is also a small work-out area with a floor-pad, a weight bench, and a punching bag.
Phoebe sits behind a small receptionists desk just inside the front door on the first floor. Johnny and Jake each have an office to the left and right, each with an old fireplace and a steam radiator. A kitchen and bathroom are towards the rear of the first floor. Stairs are in the far back.
Across the street from the building is the Dirty Duck bar, a dingy working-class dive. Down at the end of that block is the Blanchett House of Hospitality homeless shelter. The railroad tracks run behind and beside the building, with the Union Pacific train station few hundred feet to the northwest. Across the train tracks are several new upscale riverfront condominium buildings. The Chinese Gardens are only a block away to the north, which are across the street from several Chinese curio shops. Glisan ramps up to meet with 1st street to become the seventy year old Steel Bridge.
NOTE: In reality, the building in question has been home to architect Richard L Jaffe and the Oregon Brewers Guild. It is currently vacant, but there is a website dedicated to finding a new use for this building.
